The Electrical, Computer, & Software Engineering Student Society (ExCESS) at McGill University

The Electrical, Computer, & Software Engineering Student Society (ExCESS) represents all students in the Electrical, Computer and Software Engineering (ECSE) Department at McGill University. This student society, formerly the Electrical Engineering Society, came to be officially recognized in 1998, when the overseeing of the department was renamed the Computer and Electrical Engineering Department of McGill University. The students are represented by the student council of the ExCESS, which is composed of a president, 5 executives, and 10 class representatives.

The Electrical, Computer and Software Engineering Student Society currently counts more than 800 undergraduate student members, with approximately 250 new students entering the program each year. The students of the ExCESS form roughly 40% of all undergraduate engineering students at McGill University.
